Mission Statement          

The Open Doors Society exists to help parents help themselves and their families in the growth of their young children’s spiritual, social, cognitive and physical development.

Our Objectives

-To develop a wide range of programs and services that will provide encouragement and support to the families and caregivers of Fort Simpson.

-To provide a safe and secure environment where the children can express themselves freely and explore their identities.

-To display a positive atmosphere combining both structured and unstructured play geared to age-appropriate social development of the children.

-To encourage families to be involved in the programming that their children receive.

-To encourage self-esteem in children and aim to enhance their personal identity.

-To provide an environment where children will learn positive co-operative interaction.

-To celebrate the cultural aspects of families within the program.

-To promote our programs in a positive way in the community by participating in events and by linking with other community groups and agencies.

Open Doors Society was Founded in 1994 through collaboration with Public Health, Social Services, Deh Cho Divisional Education Council ( DDEC) and dedicated group of volunteers
